Farm House and Home Stay
Travelers to Bhutan can combine Farm house or Home stay during their tour to Bhutan. So if Guests are interested in having a Farm House Stay or Home stay for a different experience than do let us know and we will combine this Farm House/Home Stay while making your Tour Itinerary.
This is another way of experiencing real Bhutan and interacting with the Bhutanese people when on your visit to Bhutan. There are farm/home stays in the Valley of Paro, Punakha, Phobjikha Valley, Bumthang etc
Bumthang Valley known as the “Switzerland of Bhutan” is located in Central Bhutan, a religious hub in Bhutan.
A village community in the beautiful valley of Bumthang has started Farm House Stay, where tourists visiting Bhutan can now enjoy a Home stay in the villages in the village houses with food and shelter provided by the house owners, so that tourists can get an experience of the village life in Bhutan.
Tourists will be taken good care of and food and drinks will be served by the House mother like she does for her family members. However care has been taken to ensure that cleanliness and hygiene is maintained at all times and so decent toilets and shower arrangements have been made. There is also the village Hot bath to look forward to.
The farm houses are Bhutanese traditional houses (with just the ground and first floor). They are located in the north of Chamkar town, which is about 23 Kms. away. It is a dirt road drive of an hour from Chamkar town.
During the stay and depending on the number of days in this village, the Guests can join in the local village games like Khuru, and also do the trek called Drapham Dzong Hike. This Dzong (Fortress) is an ancient ruined Dzong and an Archeological Site in Bhutan and takes around half a day to do this trek.
